Reserve 10% of Nabco jobs for Persons with Disability-NKT tells gov’t
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTK Ventures headquarters in the Ejisu Municipality in the Ashanti region,Mr.Ntim Twumasi Kwaku has appealed to the Government to reserve 10% of the Nation Builders Corps employment opportunity for Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the country. The CEO who doubles as 2017 Disability entrepreneur of the year told the New Trust Newspaper that “In chapter 11 of the NPP 2016 election winning manifesto, 10 fantastic items have been outlined to help improve the lives of persons with Disability.
It reads, Modernize/improve and resource Disabled training institutions, amend the Disability act to conform with UN convention on PWD’s, encourage private institutions to reserve a quota of jobs for PWD’s etc.
The ex-British military officer who is also the Chief Patron of Spiritan & Miland university colleges Tescon branches said it will therefore be appropriate for Government to at least reserve 10% of Nabco jobs for PWD’s to help encourage the private sector to also consider PWD’s when it comes to employment.
NTK said “the government must lead by example. PWD’s are usually sidelined by employers due to our condition and also the unwillingness of employers to adapt their environment to suit PWD’s”, he lamented.By:A news desk report
